Millard Caravans Since 1947
The Millard brand has its roots imbedded in Australian history as far back as 1947 when Jim Darlington started building caravans in a small shed in the Sydney suburb of Mortlake.
Jim’s sons, John and Peter soon joined the family business, helping their dad produced some of the first iconic Millard caravans.
Soon afterwards, Millard moved their operations to North Ryde with John taking over as the owner under the guidance of his father and Millard Caravans founder Jim.
At the peak in the mid 1970’s the Australian caravan industry was producing more than 70 vans per day and 4000 vans per year. Millard, along with Franklin, Coronet, Chesney, and Viscount Caravans were the top echelon of the industry.
The Millard brand again changed ownership in 2019 as fresh ideas and new leadership were required to drive the business forward.
The brand remains Australian owned and in 2020 presented the Australian market with a new and exciting product range whilst still incorporating the original Millard ethos, “Quality at an affordable price”.
The complete Millard range of the MFlow, Toura and Breakaway caravans are produced at the factory in Sydney’s south-west. All Millard caravans are built with a full one-piece roof, aluminum framed and insulated walls and a hot dipped galvanized Australian steel chassis.
